Overview
Elizabeth Goodwin focuses on the critical intersection of law and public policy on artificial intelligence, data privacy, and cybersecurity matters. She regularly advises on the development and implementation of federal regulatory and legislative strategies, in addition to helping clients comply with local lobbying, campaign finance, pay-to-play, and government ethics laws. Elizabeth has experience working on questions arising under the Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA), the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), the Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA), and federal gift rules.
She is passionate about public service and is actively involved in Steptoe’s pro bono program. Her pro bono work focuses on civil rights, including voter protection and voting rights.
Elizabeth received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where she served as an Executive Articles Editor for the Georgetown Law Journal. Prior to joining Steptoe, Elizabeth served as a law clerk for the Senate Judiciary Committee in Senator Blumenthal's office and as a legal intern for the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division.
